Gite Wyvern is a stone built cottage situated a short distance from Clecy near to a golf course. It is in a quiet and peaceful location yet only a short drive from all local amenities. It is perfect for visiting D-Day landing beaches, historical sites such as Falaise and Le Mont St Michel or just relaxing with a glass of wine and some local cheese. Gite Wyvern is a restored stone built cottage in a tranquil location 3km from Clecy, Calvados. It is ideally situated to explore this beautiful part of France known as Suisse Normande - with its wonderful walks, kayaking, fishing, rock climbing and golf (the nearest golf course is 400m away!) It is also well placed to explore the D-Day landing beaches and the WW2 inland battles such as Falaise, Hill 112 and Mont Pincon. The Gite is situated in its own large grounds with ample private car parking to front and side. The gently sloping secluded garden is to the rear. At the bottom of the garden is an area with young tree\'s and a small brook. The accommodation consists of a large lounge/diner with 2 sofa\'s, dining table for 6 and a kitchen corner. 3 Double bedrooms consisting of a twin bedroom on the ground floor, a further twin upstairs and a king size bed in the main upstairs bedroom. A shower room and separate toilet are on the ground floor. The Kitchen area has 2 hob rings, microwave, and worktop oven and grill. There is a fridge, dishwasher, kettle and a full range of crockery. The gite also has a washing machine, TV, Playstation/DVD player and CD stereo. Outside there is a BBQ and garden furniture. The nearest shops are in Clecy, with a small general store, butcher and baker as well as gift shops, restaurants and a tourist information centre. There are large supermarkets in Thury Harcourt and Conde sur Noireau. Clecy 3km Thury Harcourt & Conde sur Noireau 10km Caen 38km Bayeux 53km Falaise 23km. How to get there Dover - Calais, there are several services such as ferry, seacat and tunnel. Then around a 4 hour drive to the Gite. This is an easy drive on the \'Peage\' (French toll motorways). Speedferries Dover-Boulogne are offering good deals at the moment. Portsmouth - Caen by far the most leisurely route - Brittany ferries crossing (all year round) around 5 hours, they are now running a fastcraft as well. P and O Fastcraft which is around 3 hours (April to Sept). Then there is a drive of around 35-40 minutes to the Gite. Other crossings are Portsmouth-Le Havre, Newhaven-Dieppe and Portsmouth-Cherbourg.
