You will stay in 3 separate but connected holiday homes, on an estate in the Eastern part of the Douro region in North Portugal, the Douro Superior. It is part of a large Quinta dating back to 1820, and now divided in a main building where the owners live, and 5 holiday homes around a beautiful garden and a communal swimming pool with separate paddling pool. You can eat together in 1 of the apartments or in the adega which has enough room for 12 people, or outside in the Portuguese sunlight. The 3 connected holiday homes, Casa do Curral, Casa do Alambique and Casa do Caseiro, can also be rented separately for 4 persons each. The other 2 holiday homes are detached. There is a chapel on the estate where marriages regularly take place, an idyllic location to tie the knot! The Quinta is 26 acres, with 10 acres vineyards and 2 acres olive gardens. The current owner has renovated the buildings from 2003 and 2004 with beauty and style. One of the holiday homes is in the previous stable, another in the previous home of the 'caseiro' (caretaker), and another in a space were the 'aguardente' was distilled in the past The Adega is renovated in style, but also modernised, which means that quality wines and port are again produced here.
