Miami Beach :
From Ocean Drive's magnificent stretch of restaurants, galleries and night clubs in the south end, to the shopping core along Washington Avenue, to North Beach's architecture as well as Lincoln Road, Miami Beach is the center of chic.
On the southern tip of Miami Beach, lays South Beach occupying less than two square miles. South Beach visitors will want to start out at South Pointe Park for a close-up view of ships heading through the channel to the Port of Miami.
Next, check out Lummus Park, a green area bordering the beach. Other attractions are the Wolfsonian/FIU collection, the botanical gardens and the Holocaust Memorial.
Downtown has plenty of cultural interest, from the Gusman Center for the Performing Arts to the James L. Knight International Center and the Miami Arena. Bayside Marketplace, a gorgeous waterfront shopping and dinning meeting point, is one of the most visited attractions.
Coral Gables is a charming community of Mediterranean style, monumental gateways, plazas, fountains and miles of canals. Downtown Coral Gables is a rising business community, especially along Miracle Mile, offering some of the top chefs in the city.
On Biscayne Bay, south of downtown and east of Coral Gables lays Coconut Grove hosting Vizcaya, the Italian Renaissance style estate of millionaire James Deering. But perhaps what comes to mind most often from the Grove is its shopping, entertainment, food and fun. Being CocoWalk the center of it all.
Just across the Rickenbacker Causeway is Key Biscayne. Known for its spectacular beaches and many recreational opportunities. Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Recreation Area with its Lighthouse being one of them and Crandon Park with its Golf Course and Tennis Center, the other one.
Calle Ocho, also known as SW Eight Street, is the heart of Little Havana where you will find the Latin Quarter Cultural Center and the art deco Tower Theater showing multi-cultural films. While Teatro Ocho presents Spanish only theater productions.
Other neighborhoods worth knowing are Little Havana, Aventura, Bal Harbour, Sunny Isles Beach and Surfside.
