Vodice :
For years, experts and tourist organizations have considered Vodice to be at the top of Croatia's tourist offer. This famous tourist town, which is about ten kilometres from Šibenik, is a favourite destination for families with children, for young people and for older people. This is because Vodice has something special on offer for every generation. Ever since Roman times people have lived in these parts, and they gave it the name Vodice because of the nearby drinking water springs. Throughout history it has frequently changed rulers, so that today it is possible to come across fortified walls from the times of Ottoman occupation, old churches from the 15th century, as well as the pretty church of Sv. Križa, which was built in 1764 and is in the centre of the town.
There is a wide variety of accommodation in Vodice - from hotels, apartments, and rooms to recreation centres, campsites and family guesthouses. Today's ten thousand inhabitants have dedicated their lives to tourism and to improving what they offer to their guests. Thanks to their efforts, guests have all sorts of sports grounds available to them, a wide choice of water sports, and also diving and surfing schools. The marina, which has moorings for up to 400 boats, is situated in the centre of the town, and has all the additional services that sailors need. In order for all the generations to be able to find some form of entertainment that suits them, there are discos, restaurants, children's play areas in Vodice, and daily there are outings to nearby places and beauty spots such as the National Parks of Krka and Kornati
