Enjoy the charm and comfort of a fully renovated gracious, 100+ year old house in the centre of the village. We are open year-round (excepting Christmas/New Year's holidays). Centrally located in the unique historical village of St. Jacobs, which retains it's cultural heritage based on the unique Old Order Mennonite settlers 250 years ago. Some Old Order Mennonite families continue to live in the village, with many living on farms in the surrounding countryside. Visit the Visitor Centre to learn more about the history, also visit the local museums, including the Quilt Museum. St. Jacobs is a central part of the annual Quilt Festival held annually the third week of May. Just 5 Km North of St. Jacobs is the town of Elmira - which hosts the annual "Elmira Maple Syrup Festival" at the end of May, or beginning of April. St. Jacobs provides ready access to hiking trails, horseback riding, hot-air ballooning, hay rides, golfing & fishing. The adjacent city of Waterloo is home to Wilfrid Laurier University and the University of Waterloo. The city of Kitchener, just South of Waterloo hosts the annual "Oktoberfest" festival.
