Nerja is 60 Km from Malaga airport which is only 50 minutes away via the Autovia. There is reasonable access via public transport but car hire is very cheap. Taxi is about 70 Euros one way. The town centre has retained a genuine Spanish feel and the centrepiece is the Balcon de Europa, a promontory from which there are wonderful views. There are many restaurants to suit every taste. Scuba-diving, horse-riding available. An 18-hole golf course is 20 minutes away. Night-life is relaxed - mainly peoplewatching - with just a few disco-nightclubs near the town centre. Local fiestas include Carmen (July 16) and the Feria (Ocotber 9 to 12).
