Dear visitor, the name of this house has got nothing to do with the existence or evidence of Castles from the Arab occupation or later the birth of Portugal. Two simple reasons made us name the house this way. The first reason is that when we bought this set of "Houses nearly in ruins" we received then heavy and old-looking keys which had a small label saying "Casa do Castelo".
We thought that this name was given because the house is slightly higher up than the others, making it this way easier to self-identity. The second reason is given to the fact that the house is situated in a natural and beautiful area. Being a mountainous type of house with almost exclusive access it offers the visitor the possibility to enjoy of an excellent view which is pointed out in front of the house, The Paisagem Protegida da Serra do Acor. At its feet the Alvôco stream flows over pebbles and between willows offering peace and serenty.

Casa do Castelo has a fixed price all year around. The minimum stay is 3 nights. Except in the months July and August where the minimum stay is 7 nights.

6 persons/1 night/90 eur/week/500

For stays longer than 2 weeks, we offer 10% discount on the total price.
