For years, experts and tourist organizations have considered Vodice to be at the top of Croatia's tourist offer. This famous tourist town, which is about ten kilometres from Šibenik, is a favourite destination for families with children, for young people and for older people. Ever since Roman times people have lived in these parts, and they gave it the name Vodice because of the nearby drinking water springs. Throughout history it has frequently changed rulers, so that today it is possible to come across fortified walls from the times of Ottoman occupation, old churches from the 15th century, as well as the pretty church of Sv.
