This pretty conservation village, half a mile from the sea and 1.1/2 miles from Exmoor National Park, nestles at the foot of the beautiful Sterridge Valley. It is off the coast road between Combe Martin (1.1/2 miles) and Ilfracombe (4 miles) and so misses most of the holiday traffic. It has won several “Best Kept Village†awards.
The 16th Century “Olde Globe†in the village centre provides pub food and restaurant meals, has a skittle alley and a pool table, and welcomes children and dogs. There are other pubs and restaurants within easy distance as well as “Miss Muffet†for snacks and evening meals. The village post office/shop/off licence sells newspapers and groceries
