Lovers of good organic wine have heard of Quinta da Comenda; it exports its prize- winning whites, Red and rosés all over the world you probably won’t have heard is that the first king o Portugal, D. Afonso Henriques did battle nearby broke a leg and was forced to stay at his uncle place, the Quinta da Comenda. It later passed to the hands of The Order of Malta; hense the cross above the main entrance. Wander down to the river and a Roman Bridge, through the vineyards and orchards.

In a quite and relax atmosphere our guests may enjoy the XXI century comfort in a granite manor house with a medieval history. “Quinta da Comenda� has 6 double rooms each one with bathroom, and one house, swimming pool, gardens, chapel, billiard, table-tennis, a boat to row in the river, etc. In the line of progress, you can observe the method of organic agriculture and visit our cave where the modern vinification is practiced to obtain the certificated � Quinta da Comenda� organic wine. We organize wine tastes for groups.
