In the surrounding beautiful gardens Chef Luigi Buitoni selects the fresh vegetables for his courses in Italian cuisine. The breakfast, set in the splendid dining room, offers the first occasion to taste the pastries and cakes prepared by Chef Buitoni.

In the charming landscape, surrounded by the silence, the medieval, walled town of Paciano welcomes one into the countryside of Umbria, the green heart of Italy, just a few kilometres from the beautiful and typical Tuscan Val d’Orcia. Built on the hills of Lake Trasimeno and extraordinarily well-preserved, this tiny village came gradually into existence in the fourteenth century as it grew into a supply town during the construction of a still-standing watchtower to protect Perugia from a southern invasion. Tucked into the corner of the village wall is the Rocca Buitoni (La Locanda), an ancient family residence built in the thirteen hundreds. Today this corner inn symbolizes the peace and tranquillity that epitomizes this niche of the world.
