The villa was loving restored in 2009 into 5 apartments. The apartments are spacious with large out door space or balcony.

This villa enjoys a superb location with enchanting views over the sea, the bay of Funchal and the beautiful mountains.

The villa is located in the historic centre of Funchal. It is 5 minutes walk from Funchal´s famous Fish and Flower market, Monte cable car station and Fort São Tiago. One of the best and well known secrets about the old town is its excellent restaurants, located 5 minutes walk from the villa.

Less than 100 meters away from the villa is the public Lido complex barreirinha with a swimming pool and access to the sea.

Villa São Tiago offers a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere in a unique location in Madeira!

We rented apartment Ocean in this converted Villa in March 2011.The location is at the far eastern fringe of the old town and literally a couple of minutes walk from a local lido, ocean side restaurant and cafes.One can walk to the centre by the market in about 10 minutes.On the way back to the apartment you can walk through the cafes of the old town and then just have one short but fairly steep hill to reach the villa.It is located on the same road as two high class hotels. The apartment is fairly small but perfectly adequate and very well equipped for a couple.The view from the french doors and patio is delightful and you can see ships coming in to harbour. We really enjoyed being able to shop for fresh produce in the market and then eat it on the balcony as an alternative to using restaurants some days. Booking was efficient, lovely english speaking rep available in Funchal, cleaned to an excellent standard. I would recommend this apartment to anyone who prefers to stay in a residential or central area rather than a faceless hotel zone.
