Description:
The vineyard castle hotel Villa Antonio is located near the village of Postup on the southern tip of the Peljesac peninsula, offering picturesque views of the city of Orebic and the Isle of Korcula, birthplace of Marco Polo. The castle sits atop a lush vineyard, boasting a spectacular panorama of the countryside and small islands in the channel.

The Peljesac peninsula - and specifically the village of Postup - has been renowned for the quality of its grapes and wine since Roman times. Due to the many sunny days in Peljesac, the sugar content in the local grapes reaches 22, the optimum gravity for producing the best Postup wine. At Villa Antonio we have over 7000 vines growing in the vineyard, but we have focused the crop's breeding to produce only two strains of select Postup grapes. This specialization allows him to produce a vintage of unanimously judged excellence.

The surrounding coastline boasts a generous sprinkling of white sand beaches, from Villa Antonio to Orebic to Viganj (Croatia's top destination for professional windsurfing), to Loviste, a quiet fishing and farming town at the top of the Peljesac Peninsula. The Isle of Korcula can be reached by a quick hop across the channel on ferry or boat. A leisurely drive south through the countryside will be rewarded with a day of sightseeing and shopping in the marble-paved streets of Dubrovnik, the fairytale medieval city long regarded as the most beautiful settlement on earth.

On the way back to Villa Antonio, you can stop in the town of Mali Ston for dinner at the world renowned Kapetanova Kuca restaurant, where delicious traditional Mediterranean and Dalmatian meals and desserts are the standard bill of fare. Only the freshest seafood from the daily catch is prepared here, surpassing the standards of the most finicky culinary experts. Fresh, simple and pure - this is how we eat in Dalmatia.

As you continue your return to our castle, you'd do well to visit the oyster farmers in the village of Drace to enjoy the shellfish at below market prices. Take care not to bite into a pearl! At your request, we will also arrange tours along the Peljesac wine road to Dingacand Potomje, where the Mali Plavac grape varietal grows in abundance.

All of our rooms and salons in the house are designed for complete relaxation, surrounded by natural beauty and permeated by soothing aromas, soft light and peaceful colors. Whether you visit our castle in the spring, summer, or late autumn when we barre.
