Quillan is a medium sized French town nestled in the foothills of the beautiful Pyrenees mountains which seperate France and Spain. The town serves as a gateway to the beautiful surrounding countryside of hills, lakes, rivers, gorges and cathar castles.
Located in the department of Aude in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of south-east France. The towns proximity to the Pyrenean peaks and to the Mediterranean coast make it an ideal location for those interested in exploring the delights of rural France and the coast.
The Aude river after which the department is named runs through the centre of Quillan town, the river provides many recreation activities in the summer months.
