YALIKAVAK has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where locals mix with visitors. The small harbour is lined with traditional Turkish restaurants and in high season these cafĂŠ/bars and tavernas are the focus of laid-back evening entertainment. There is a traditional Windmill, some 300 years old, opened as restaurant. A typically Turkish market is held every Thursday. Yalikavak is a small fishing village where lazy days revolve around the harbour, sunbathing on one of the tiny beaches, or taking one of the daily boat trips available, to some of the many bays around. These boat trips are a very enjoyable and cheap day out with all food included. For the more energetic there are a couple of new tennis courts and a tennis/ fitness club in the village. There is also a fabulous, very smart, new Marina, complete with supermarket, shops, bistro, cafes and amphitheatre. http://www.portbodrum.com/en/marinaplus.asp There is also a small 9 hole golf course approximately 20 mins away, on the way to Bodrum.
