Calasetta

Calasetta is located in the Island of Sant' Antioco, is situated off the south western corner of Sardinia between Capo Teulada in the south, and the beautiful Costa Verde to the north.
Calasetta is located in a very fascinating area rich in archaeological and mining sites, museums, churches, which can be visited all year long. Moreover, Calasetta is located in the Sulcis area, an agricultural region, where a particular wine is produced named “Carignano del Sulcis”. Recently this wine has become famous and is appreciated worldwise.
By day you can visit one of the three beautiful beaches, Sotto Torre, Salina or Grande, and soak up the sun and enjoy the clean, warm water. The sand is fine and soft and all three beaches are shallow for quite a distance and do not shelve deeply which makes them ideal for families with young children. All the beaches are curved and have rocks jutting out at both extremities, which, along with the crystal clear water make snorkeling a real pleasure.
Calasetta has about 2500 inhabitants, with all necessary civic and tourist services (restaurants, supermarkets, discos, hotels, sport areas), a first aid structure open 24 hours and a tourist harbour. Calasetta and Carloforte are joined by ferryboats.
