Between Lambert's Bay and Plettenberg Bay, sweeping stretches of sand are punctuated by rocky promontories, fishing villages and holiday resorts. North of the mountains, the Klein Karoo is characterised by wide open spaces, undulating hills and enormous ostrich farms.
